Abstract:It is in the process of classification and complex text genealogy that the theme ‘conviction’ in the poem Across The Mountains was established. Further inspecting the text genealogy of this poem in its classification and replacing it into the context of the 1980s or “new-period literature”, its unusual mysterious text space behind the theme “conviction” would be opened up. In the paradoxical structure and form of ‘mountains-seas’, the poem represents the deficiency or discontent in the cultural-psychological structure of the 1980s, that is a cultural consciousness of “seeking outside” and unconsciousness of “lacking/seeking father”.
