Abstract:When China joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001, it makes extensive commitments to open market to foreign investment on goods and service. The market of telecommunication service in China is huge to the world, however, in practice, foreign involvement in this market is extremely limited. This article exploring the key commercial and legal barriers to foreign entry into China’s telecommunication market, with exploring areas of non-compliance with the WTO rules and the obligations contained in China’s Accession Protocol.
