Abstract:The Nanchang Uprising is of great historical significance. Academics tend to believe that the Nanchang Uprising failed because its main force suffered heavy losses in Chaoshan and did not establish a revolutionary base in Guangdong. In fact, the Nanchang Uprising and the Autumn Harvest Uprising promoted each other to reunite revolutionary forces, which was the purpose of the Nanchang Uprising held by the CPC Central Committee; the Nanchang Uprising Army’s move south to Guangdong to establish a new base was only a measure to that purpose. From the process of Chinese revolution at that time, the Nanchang Uprising and those uprisings after the autumn harvest that year in various regions “converged into a consistent struggle” and achieved the purpose of the Nanchang Uprising. From this perspective, the Nanchang Uprising was successful.
