Abstract:Circulation is a key link connecting production and consumption and unimpeded economic cycle, is the cornerstone of the sound operation of the national economy, and has important practical significance for improving the domestic market environment and promoting the new development pattern of double cycle. This study systematically measures the development level of circulation industry in 30 provincial-level regions in China except Xizang, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan Province from 2008 to 2020. By using kernel density estimation and social network analysis, this paper describes the evolution and spatial correlation structure of China’s provincial circulation industry. The results show that the overall development level of the circulation industry presents an inverted U-shaped trend, and there is a typical gradient characteristic of high in the east and low in the west among different regions. In terms of spatial correlation structure, the overall spatial density and the total number of spatial correlations show a trend of first increasing and then decreasing, and the correlation among provinces shows a network spatial structure that the central and western regions are closer to the east, but the space is relatively loose. Block model analysis divides 30 provinces into 4 plates, which interact with each other. Through the above research conclusions, we can have an in-depth understanding of the development of China’s provincial circulation industry, and provide important references for formulating relevant policies and promoting the development of circulation industry.
