The ecological crisis is a challenge facing the world today, and China and Western countries have responded to it accordingly. Western countries have proposed ecological modernization, which is based on anthropocentrism, technology-only theories and western-style democracy, but has not effectively addressed the ecological crisis. China proposes a Chinese-style modernization in which human beings live in harmony with nature; this modernization is based on Marxism, people-centeredness, and the leadership of the Communist Party of China as a guide and guarantee, and achieves a win-win situation in terms of economic, social and ecological benefits, which highlights the advantages of Chinese-style modernization.
