Abstract:Sichuan bankers are an important part of modern Chinese bankers. They originated in the late Qing Dynasty, developed rapidly in the early Republic of China, and came into being in the 1930s. Chuanbang bankers, as a group of bankers in inland areas, are deeply affected by the local environment and have distinct group characteristics. It has a strong old-style color in business operation, emphasizes traditional ideas in management philosophy, builds a system featuring “gang” on the relationship network, and pursues the spirit of group adventure in cultural values. It is based on such characteristics that Chuanbang bankers have walked out of a road of financial modernization different from Jiangsu and Zhejiang OCBC Banks and Minji OCBC Banks. Chuanbang Banks represented by Juxingcheng Bank have outstanding performance, have certain influence in the country, and become the pillar of the West China Consortium.
