By discussing the strategic positioning of the overall concept of national security in the road of Chinese modernization and analyzing its important role in the road of Chinese modernization, we can continue to deepen the Sinicization and modernization of Marxist national security theory, and better coordinate the two major issues of development and security.To be specific，the strategic positioning of the overall national security concept in the Chinese-style modernization road consists of three parts: functional positioning, nature positioning and target positioning. First, in essence, the functional positioning of “new security pattern to ensure new development pattern”. Second, grasp the nature of the concept of development and security with Chinese characteristics, which contains the principle of “people’s nature”, the feature of “totality” and the concept of “great security”. Third, from the internal requirements of promoting the deep integration of development and security, the central task of building a higher level of peace and security in China, the fundamental guarantee of adhering to the political security in the first place, and the international vision of coordinating the domestic and international patterns as well as internal and external development, the goal of building a solid security cornerstone for Chinese modernization.
