The Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) dances of Chongqing is an important regional cultural image. In the current creative transformation of ICH dance, the aesthetic forms represented by the “signifier” have garnered widespread public attention. However, the meaning of the body’s “signified” in ICH dance is rapidly disappearing. Therefore, it is necessary to return to the “corporeality” of the ICH context. The body is a crucial support and origin of ICH dance, embodying carrier properties, subjectivity, interactivity, and inheritance, leading to the cultural heritage of body philosophy. This paper starts from the representation and symbols of the body, exploring the interactive relationship between the body and ICH dance. The sensations, phenomena, and concepts formed in this interaction constitute three levels of body symbols: regional symbolism, iconic symbolism, and stylistic symbolism. Finally, through considerations from the dimensions of lens, vision, and the internet, the paper examines the corporeality of Chongqing ICH dance in the digital age, aiming to provide some insights for the creative transformation and high-quality development of Chongqing ICH dance.
