The singing movement is a collective singing form with the masses as the main body and singing in unison as the main feature. It is one of the most widely carried out and participated artistic activities among the people. In the 1930 s, China entered the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan, and anti Japanese national salvation songs developed rapidly. The whole country launched mass singing and salvation movements. This movement is famous for its historical development history that has lasted for a long time, with numerous singing teams, far-reaching regional influence, and wide audience, and has become an important part of the cultural development of China’s resistance against Japan. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, it is necessary to deeply summarize the historical value of the Anti Japanese Salvation Song Movement as an important part of the anti Japanese activities, especially its impact on national emotions, cognition, and behavior, in order to provide assistance for the development of the new era society. This article focuses on the evolution of the Anti Japanese Salvation Song Movement as the main research object, using historical research methods as the main approach. By studying the development of its three time periods, the aim is to analyze from the deepest level how each stage of the Salvation Song Movement influenced the national spirit, public perception, and behavior during the Anti Japanese War. This article first outlines the social background, reasons for its rise, and development process of the Anti Japanese Salvation Song Movement. Secondly, starting from the essence of the Anti Japanese Salvation Song Movement, from the perspective of sociology and music aesthetics, it is proposed that the movement mainly influences people’s behavior through the following three steps: emotional infection-cognitive assimilation-action occurrence. Finally, starting from the value transformation of anti Japanese war music culture in the new era, this article elaborates on how to activate the anti Japanese war spirit heritage contained in anti Japanese war music, so that it can radiate new vitality in the context of the new era, and continue to nourish the patriotic beliefs, national identity, and cultural confidence of the people.
