Abstract:During the war, Chongqing with its unique geographical, cultural, and political position, became the center of the Anti-Japanese cultural movement. The Yinhe Poetry Society was born in this historical context and soon developed into the largest literary organization in the rear area of the war. This focuses on the literary practice of the Yinhe Poetry Society under the background of the national crisis, exploring its unique functions in war propaganda, cultural heritage, and the creation of classical. The central question is: how does the poetry society continue the traditional “poetry expresses aspirations”, and how does it express the feelings of home and country with classical poetry. What kind of innovation does its work present in terms of artistic style, ideological connotation, and cultural function? This article adopts the method of documentary research, with Yin Collection as the core text, supplemented by relevant archives, poetry collections, and historical materials, to sort out the activities of the poetry society and its creative achievements. The comparative analysis method is used to highlight its characteristics by referring to other literary groups at the same time. The research finds that the Yinhe Poetry Society has built a cultural community both literary and political characteristics through its elegant gatherings and the continuous publication of the Yinhe Collection . Its creation of classical poetry not only shows a distinct “mountain city”, vividly reproduces the geographical landscape and humanistic style of wartime Chongqing, but also inherits Du Fu’s “solemn and stirring” of poetry in spirit, strengthening the realistic orientation and historical sense of poetry. Especially prominent is that the poetry society deepens the tradition of “poetry of scholars”, casting literacy and patriotic feelings into the poetry, and its works combine academic depth with artistic appeal, showing a diversified aesthetic orientation. The literary practice of the Yinhe Poetry Society only expands the forms of expression of war literature but also maintains the pulse of national spirit on the cultural level, which constitutes an important part of the cultural resistance during the war. This reveals the creative transformation of traditional poetics in the modern context of national salvation, enriches the understanding of the diversified appearance of war literature, and also provides a case for the interaction between “old forms” and “new changes” in modern Chinese literature.
