Abstract:The essence of social and emotional learning (SEL) dictates that it does not merely occur in the well-structured problem scenarios prearranged by schools but extends more broadly into complex social interaction fields. To effectively promote SEL, it is imperative for families, schools, and society to collaborate in a coordinated manner. The construction of the “Education Alliance” (EA) is a systematic project, with its core objective being to integrate the forces of the three parties based on their respective educational functions to form a SEL community. This community can drive the cohesion of the subjects, transform the relationship among families, schools, and society from role disengagement to collaborative co-education; standardize the mechanism to ensure that the responsibilities of all parties are effectively implemented; and normalize the model to guarantee that the educational practice shifts from sporadic and fragmented to continuous and coherent. Within the EA, the division of rights and responsibilities is clear. Families serve as the starting point of collaboration, nurturing the initial social and emotional development and sustaining the achievements made within schools. Schools act as the core of collaboration, deepening social and emotional abilities through systematic courses and collective life. Society provides the practical field and resource support for SEL. Under the construction of the “Education Alliance”, the collaborative promotion of social and emotional learning among schools, families and communities requires the establishment of empathy, the formation of a value resonance based on a common vision; reaching a consensus and establishing a practice plan based on problem orientation; and forming an orderly collaboration based on resource integration. The supporting measures lie in enhancing the capacity of social and emotional education to achieve scientific teaching, activelypaying attention to cultural responses to ensure close connections, and comprehensively conducting data tracking to promote the integrity of the system. A high-quality education ecosystem of “three-in-one” is to be built to comprehensively improve students’ emotional literacy and social development levels, serving the fundamental task of moral education and talent strengthening the country strategy.
